Wasps, Hornets and Yellowjackets
(Size: 2 cm)
The difference between bees and these guys is that these ones sting a lot. When the nest is disturbed, by throwing objects at it (I pity the moron who does this on purpose), brushing the branch it's on, etc, they attack with full force. Like bees, allergic reactions can be followed after being stung. Remove any stingers with tweezers and try not to force any more venom into the skin (the venom sac will often be attached to the stinger). Applying ice can help control the swelling.
Watch out when drinking: these guys are attracted to sweets, such as juice, pop, etc. My dad once got stung on the lip when he sipped his pop (And he's highly allergic, too. Luckily, it seemed he only got a "dry sting". He only got a swollen lip for a few days afterwards)
