Ticks

(Size: 1-2 mm)

Probably the critter to fear the most, they can spread lyme disease. The best way to protect yourself is to be well dressed when going in the woods, tuck in pant legs, never walk barefoot, and wear light-coloured socks to help you spot ticks. If ever you do find a tick on yourself or on someone else (also check pets, they're also prone to lyme disease), remove the tiny vampire with tweezers, grabbing it as close to the head as possible. It's a good idea to keep the tick in alcohol for later identification if ever you show signs of having lyme disease.
